29 Apr April to August – The journey begins
Where do I see MTP in the next 3 years?
On April 17th our first student got accepted into Longwood University. This has been thanks to God, a culmination of effort , investment in time, and money. I shall talk briefly about all three. The effort and hard work has to come first and foremost from the player. Without this kind of attitude and work ethic , nothing is possible. Secondly, the time it takes to groom and mature raw talent is a huge sacrifice sometimes this is NOT the easiest of jobs because most times you’ve got to put up with attitude and the dirtiest jobs that no one likes to think about. Imagine the countless encouragements, heartbreaks and prodding that the mom-coach goes through to get the player mentally ready to beat any opponent. Lastly is the finance; ideas don’t get the JOB done ! Without the financial backing and sponsorship from the dad-coach, all of this would have been but a pipe dream.
Hence going back to answering the question of where I see the MTP Tennis way in the next three years is largely based on where we’ve been in the past three years since Crystal joined Mouratoglou. MTA for us has been an interesting ALL-ROUND awesome experience and the staff have been highly cooperative and accommodating , even to the extent of becoming a family. The question is, with Crystal going off to the USA and Pearl having to finish her final year in Nigeria, will this be an ideal time to take Jade off to France ? Or , do we give him as much training here with his tennis and try to enact our own system in the same way we were able to develop Crystal until she was able to achieve her goals ?
Keep dreaming and stay tuned to this segment. It’s going to be real and full of helpful tips for the numerous tennis parents seeking to make their way through the maze of School sports and most importantly college tennis.
