Charity Car Wash

Charity Car Wash

A charity car wash that doubled as a family funday took place at the Northern Foreshore field on the 21st of July. It was the first of first kind in the estate and a community put together by estate residents Crystal and Pearl Nzewi. The event was an initiative to bring the kids of the estate working together to make a change in the community. Proceeds from the car wash went to The Amigo Charity , a charity that strives to help sickle sell children and fund education for the less fortunate.
The event started in the morning with volunteers from inside and outside the estate. From 9am to 5pm people were welcomed to the field by the volunteers. However the car wash didn’t get the turnout the youths had anticipated. Nevertheless they were able to gather a significant amount to donate by selling finger foods and washing a couple of cars. Overall it was a fun experience and one they hope to replicate every year but with much more publicity.
